Your Needs, Our Priorities
We understand the expectations that you place on the school, and we know the burden of responsibility that comes with that.
Families choose Whitko because we make the needs of your children: safety, academics, athletics, values, arts, music, and more, the priorities for our students. Families new to Whitko will find other families in similar walks of life with whom they can connect, and as a community we strive to support each other in our victories and in our times of need.
We provide 1 to 1 technology for each student and your student will learn how to be safe while online. We help them begin good habits now so that they are prepared for the future!
Whitko Career Academy
We understand that leaving your child with us each day is a sign of your trust in us. Your child is our priority. And because of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, you can be sure that Whitko is taking extra precautions to make your student's safety a priority. It is our goal to provide top teaching staff, safe learning environments, and to ultimately help your child become a successful life-long learner who will make a positive contribution to the betterment of our collective societies. In September of 2019 Whitko successfully began a partnership with The 80/20 Foundation Trust and The Community Foundation of Whitley County to announce Whitko Career Academy.
WCA received a nearly $2.4 million grant through the 80/20 Foundation Trust for renovations to the Larwill Campus and investments in technology that will propel the career academy toward success in courses focused in engineering and skilled trades. Each student has their own assigned Google Chromebook and are trusted with their devices regularly outside of the classroom for assignments, collaboaration, and even e-learning days. Furthermore, students are given their device to keep once they gradute from our school, which means we regularly update our inventory with the newest gear!
A host of opportunity await your student. We want them to compete in both academics and athletics within Whitko's programs. At our school, you'll find that you're a valued member of our teams. We beleive experience informs our process, and your talents won't be taken for granted.
Whitko provides parents and community members regular insight into the lives of the students through weekly videos. Using social media we strive to deliver important information direclty to our parents on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram. In addition to our videos, our parent notification system is second to none! You'll receive text alerts, phone calls, and email updates from our school in the event of inclement weather or other important school updates.
